Terms of Service

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of Accounted, a bookkeeping and tax compliance service provided by SaltCore Group Limited, trading as Accounted. By registering for or using Accounted, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. The Service

Accounted provides the following:

• →Cloud-based bookkeeping software for UK businesses
• →AI-powered transaction categorisation
• →Bank account connection via Open Banking
• →Receipt and invoice management
• →VAT return preparation and submission to HMRC
• →Self Assessment and MTD Income Tax support
• →Penny, an AI bookkeeping assistant
• →Document templates and guides

Accounted is software. We are not an accountancy firm and do not provide regulated accountancy, tax advice, or financial advice. For regulated advice, consult a qualified accountant or financial adviser.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be:

• →18 years or older
• →Based in the United Kingdom
• →Operating a UK business, self-employment, or property business

You are responsible for:

• →Keeping your login credentials secure
• →All activity under your account
• →Ensuring information you provide is accurate
• →Maintaining records as required by HMRC

One person may not create multiple free trial accounts. We reserve the right to terminate duplicate accounts.

4. Free Trial

We offer a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start.

At the end of the trial:

• →Your account reverts to read-only
• →Your data is retained for 30 days
• →You can subscribe at any time to restore full access

5. Subscription and Payment

• →Billed monthly or annually
• →Processed securely
• →Renewed automatically unless cancelled
• →Inclusive of VAT where applicable

Cancel at any time from account settings. Cancellation takes effect at end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months except where required by law. 30 days' notice for pricing changes. You may cancel before changes take effect.

6. Founding Member Pricing

Founding member pricing is locked for the duration of continuous subscription. If you cancel and resubscribe, standard pricing applies.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use Accounted to:

• →Submit false or fraudulent information to HMRC
• →Launder money or facilitate financial crime
• →Reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the service
• →Scrape or extract data systematically
• →Circumvent security measures
• →Impersonate another person or business
• →Violate any UK law or regulation

8. HMRC Submissions

When you instruct Accounted to submit data to HMRC:

• →You confirm the information is accurate and complete
• →You authorise us to act as your agent for that specific submission
• →You remain legally responsible for the accuracy of all HMRC filings
• →We are not liable for penalties arising from inaccurate information you provide

9. AI and Automation

• →AI categorisation should be reviewed before submission
• →Penny's responses are guidance, not regulated tax advice
• →You are responsible for reviewing and approving all transactions and submissions
• →We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of AI outputs

10. Data and Privacy

Governed by our Privacy Policy.

Your financial data: Encrypted and stored in EU data centres. Never sold to third parties. Never used to train AI models. Exportable at any time from your dashboard.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, software, branding, and functionality of Accounted is owned by SaltCore Group Limited. You retain ownership of all data you input into Accounted.

12. Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for losses caused by service unavailability.

13. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

• →HMRC penalties from inaccurate data you provide
• →Loss of business or profit
• →Indirect or consequential loss
• →Any loss exceeding subscription fees paid in the prior 12 months

Nothing limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

14. Changes to the Service

30 days' notice for material changes. You may cancel for a pro-rata refund if you are not happy with a material change.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time via account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, non-payment, fraud, or legal requirement. On termination: data retained 30 days, exportable within those 30 days, pro-rata refund on annual plans.

16. Governing Law

Laws of England and Wales. Disputes: exclusive jurisdiction of courts of England and Wales.
