Accounted offers straightforward pricing for sole traders. Here's what's available and what's included in each plan.
Standard pricing
Accounted is available for £19 per month, billed monthly. There are no long-term contracts — you can cancel at any time.
This single plan includes everything you need:
- Unlimited bank connections via Open Banking
- AI-powered transaction categorisation by Penny
- WhatsApp integration for receipt scanning, mileage logging, and bookkeeping on the go
- Making Tax Digital compliance, including quarterly submissions and year-end filing
- Real-time tax position dashboard
- Invoicing (create, send, and track invoices)
- Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance reports
- Receipt storage with OCR and automatic matching
- HMRC connection for direct submissions
- Accountant access portal
There are no feature tiers or add-on charges. Every user gets access to the full platform.
Founding member pricing
As a founding member, you receive 50% off for life, bringing your monthly cost to just £9.50 per month.
Founding member pricing is available to users who sign up during our launch period. This discount is permanent — it will never increase as long as your subscription remains active. If you cancel and re-subscribe later, the founding member discount may no longer be available.
Founding member pricing includes exactly the same features as the standard plan. There are no limitations or restrictions — it's simply a thank-you for being an early supporter.
What's included at no extra cost
Some features that other bookkeeping tools charge extra for are included as standard with Accounted:
- WhatsApp integration — Many competitors charge for messaging integrations.
- Unlimited receipt scanning — No per-receipt charges.
- MTD submissions — Quarterly updates and year-end filing to HMRC.
- Accountant portal access — Invite your accountant at no extra cost.
- Bank connections — Connect as many bank accounts as you need.
- Invoicing — Create and send unlimited invoices.
- Reports — Full financial reporting, including P&L and Balance Sheet.
For accountants
If you're an accountant managing multiple clients, we offer dedicated practice plans:
- Practice Starter — For firms managing up to 10 clients
- Practice Professional — For firms managing up to 50 clients
- Practice Enterprise — For firms managing up to 150 clients

Free trial
We offer a 14-day free trial so you can experience the full platform before committing. No credit card is required to start the trial. During the trial, you'll have access to every feature, and Penny will begin categorising your transactions immediately once you connect your bank.
At the end of the trial, you'll be prompted to subscribe. If you choose not to, your account will be paused — your data is preserved for 90 days in case you decide to come back.
VAT on subscriptions
Accounted's subscription prices are inclusive of VAT (where applicable). Your invoice will show the VAT breakdown. As a business expense, your Accounted subscription is an allowable deduction — and yes, Penny will categorise it automatically.
